Lucknow Metro felicitates Amity University students for designing artworks for Metro stations
LUCKNOW: The managing director of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) Kumar Keshav felicitated 60 students of the Amity University, Lucknow on May 23 by giving them "Certificate of Appreciation" who outstandingly designed marvelous art work for the upcoming nine elevated Metro stations between the KD Singh Stadium Metro Station and the Munshipulia Metro Station.

Out of these, the best nine art work which has finally been selected by LMRC shall be displayed at the nine elevated Stations between the KD Singh Stadium Metro Station and the Munshipulia Metro Station.
Recently, Lucknow Metro had given Amity University an opportunity to showcase the creative talent of their students by organising a competition among their students for mural designs to be displayed on the upcoming nine Metro stations. The theme of the artwork design was related to showcase the history, art and culture of Lucknow. A competition among students for artwork depicting the rich cultural heritage of Awadh and its specialty was arranged at the University.
In the first round, 25 teams were selected out of which the 18 teams qualified for the second round. In the final round, nine teams were finally selected by a group of jury. Among those, one design of each of the team was ultimately selected as the best among the rest to be displayed at the upcoming under-construction Metro stations.
Students from the Institute of Architecture and Planning (ASAP), School of Fine Arts (ASFA), School of Humanities, School of Sciences and School of Engineering participated with great zeal in the competition to show their talent. A prize money of Rs 10,000 each to the finally selected team members, Rs 7,500 each to the second runner-up team members and Rs 5,000 each to the first runner-up team members along with ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ from LMRC was awarded to all the participating team members.
Arvind Dubey, Deputy Chief Architect from LMRC played a crucial role in the process of selection of these artwork for Lucknow Metro and coordinated well with the University along with the faculties from the Amity School of Architecture and Planning.
